A Cheerful Disney-themed Children’s Party
On June 1st 2025, MyStarfish organised a lively Disney-themed children’s party at the Pusat Kreatif Kanak-Kanak Tuanku Bainun, creating a fun space for patients and their siblings to enjoy time together. A total of 60 people attended the event, which featured a variety of engaging activities, including darts games, batik painting, foosball, and a lively whack-a-mole station. The face painting booth, in particular, was a big hit among the children. One of the highlights was a cupcake decorating booth run by volunteers, Liz and her team, which brought out many smiles.

Why We Started
At Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, the Paediatric Pain and Palliative Care Unit offers services for patients in collaboration with other disciplines. It soon became clear to Dr Khalid and Dr Chong there was a need to supplement the services UMMC provides, as they believe that children with serious and life-threatening illness deserve the right to live to their potential in a life filled with dignity and comfort.
That’s why MyStarfish was founded – to ensure that every child and family receives the holistic care throughout their challenging journey.
